IOC 2008 Armenia will bring together 70 Armenian students with 20 international students from across the world. After rallying on July 10th in Yerevan, the buzzing capital of Armenia, international students will join Armenia students at a campsite in the Lori region tucked in the beautiful mountains of Northern Armenia. Excursions during camp will give students an opportunity to explore this land of ancient stone monasteries whose people, it is said, have their minds set in the West but their hearts in the East. You will spend ten days developing leadership skills, expanding your civics knowledge and sharing your cultural heritage. An enthusiastic team of twelve American Peace Corps Volunteers and twelve Armenian Student Counselors will ensure the safety of the students and provide a friendly atmosphere while empowering the participants with the confidence and skills necessary to make a difference in their own countries. Team challenges, various optional classes, a Model UN event, and a Cultural Fair will round out the agenda. The international students will spend a final day in Yerevan before heading home.
Location information: contract negotiations are currently underway to secure the campsite in the Lori Region of Armenia. Watch for updates in this section!
