Application Process for International Outreach Camp 2008 Ukraine

Application for IOC 2008 consists of both an application form and a personal interview.

International Students:

1. Application deadline is 1 May 2008.
2. You must be between 17 and 22 years old on July 14, 2008 to apply.
   Costs :
   $600 US for all international students - scholarships are available that make this cost as low as $150 US.

   We have a limited number of scholarships to bring the cost down to $150* (for applicants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine) and $200** (for applicants from Illinois).

   Note: We will be seeking grants to reduce costs, and we will post changes as they occur!

3. Fill out the international application form. For questions, email outreachcamp@yahoo.com
4. Review the list of projects and rank them from 1-4 in order of interest. Add this document to your application.
5. Send only the completed application(s) by email to outreachcamp@yahoo.com
6. You will be contacted within 1 week to confirm your application has been received.
7. An interview will be arranged for you either by phone or in person.
8. Final selections will be announced on 1 May, 2008.
9. Payment is due on 15 May, 2008. See www.iocoaltion.org for payment information, as this is being adjusted as we receive grants.

*	Scholarships are available through funding from the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy, Ukraine.
**	The University of Chicago has made a $400 scholarship available for your participation through CEERES. The student who receives this scholarship agrees to create and deliver a community presentation upon their return that highlights information about Ukraine or Armenia.

Ukrainian Local Students:

IOC 2008 will give the highest priority to previous participants in ABC, IOC 2006 or IOC 2007

1. Borsheev, Ternopil Camp (27 July - 8 August): Cost is 200 UAH plus cost of transportation to Ternopil.
2. Phase II limited to 40 Ukrainian participants (12-19 August): Transportation to/from project site will be paid by IOC.
3. Application deadline is 21 April, 2008.
4. You must be between 16 and 22 years old by 27 July, 2008 to apply
5. Fill out the local Ukraine application form. For questions, you may send an email to outreachcamp@yahoo.com or speak to your local contact person. For Ukrainian contact information, see www.iocoalition.org under Contacts.
6. Read the Code of Conduct . You will need to agree to follow the Code of Conduct if you are accepted. You do not need to do anything with this form now.
7. Give the completed application form to a contact person in Ternopil or Mykolayiv or send by email to outreachcamp@yahoo.com
8. If you send the form by email, you will be contacted within 1 week to confirm your application has been received.
9. You may need to complete a personal interview as well as the application form. You will be notified by the contact person in your area about the time and place for interviews in your area after you turn in the application form.
10. Final selections will be announced after the interviews, with payment due after notification.
