Ukrainian students will run three projects across Ukraine this summer – taking full responsibility for programs they have designed and funded. IOC will advise as needed – real sustainability!

These three programs will create a network of active young people across Ukraine prepared to take responsibility for the social development of their communities! Join them and become a part of the wave of the future!
Camp ABC – American Borsch Camp - Kharkiv, Ukraine
Camp ABC invites up to 80 students from 16 to 21 to participate in a bright and crazy event for Kharkiv city 2009!
This camp has been held in Ternopol, Mykolayiv and Donetsk since 2005. It has impacted students from all over Ukraine (Mykolayiv, Vinnitsa, Ternopol, Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Cherkassy, Kryvij Rig, etc.) and gains its fame from year to year.
The main goals of the Camp are:
- To give great life opportunities;
- To increase knowledge about students’ programs abroad;
- To explode madness;
- To create theatre presentations and artworks;
- To bring to life a Kharkiv network and students’ cooperation;
- To help with future projects;
Summer 2009 will be even more energetic and colorful!!! Because ABC now is a day-camp with creative classes, crazy staff members & bursting enthusiasm!!!

CACTUS – Community ACTion Ukrainian Style
This 7-day seminar on project planning and community leadership invites 80 youth (age 16-20) from western Ukraine to the city of Ternopil. There they will design and implement hands-on projects in the Project Planning class, explore the world and global political systems in their Country Studies class and learn all about theater, creative writing and debate in Arts class – while exploring the rich Spanish culture - CACTUS’s main theme. The program will be summed up by a Model UN, Project Fair and Talent Show. Come prepared to experience an amazing atmosphere, become part of a network of youth leaders and lay the groundwork for an active future by making your first step!

Arts Festival
This program invites 60 youth (14-20) from the Skadovsk,
Khersonskaya area to participate in an Arts Festival focused on HIV/AIDS.
Students will be active participants in team development and attend classes in civics and debate
as well as choose a workshop from theater, photography, art, and more. Students will learn how
to communicate information about HIV/AIDS in an effort to decrease the spread and stigma of this illness.
Come prepared to have fun, learn new information and perform for the community while you practice your skills
in the English language. Program runs July 17 – August 2, 2009.
